onkyo 606 £399 excellent piece of equipment top quality amp, 4 hdmis inputs and supports dts HD and dolby true hd and all the other older sound systems.

as for speakers obviously budget dependent but ive got a pair of jamo 5.1

excellent reviews and pretty much best speaker package you can get for under £500 ao so the reviews would have me believe.

sound amazing to me

i got a package of them plus hdmi leads, expensive speaker cable, sub connections, all for around £650 delivered

I was, until the announcement at work today. All my spending is going to be very limited now fair play to those that can & will spend, being confident in their jobs etc - it's totally a buyers market.

I've got an Onkyo One of the first in the country or something as i'd ordered it a while back. Best sub £500 notes amp, got far more than i'll ever need, or understand.

Still wired into two HiFi speakers as I couldn't warrant £200-£300 on speakers.

By the time you took manufacturing, transport, packaging, VAT etc etc, came down to like £10-£20 per speaker.

Im awaiting the cash to get a full surround, after new rear doors, new klitchen, new .......... (and on...).

Its about 2 years old now.
