Is it common for these to go on the smallblock xe's?

Mine has gone and its getting replaced on friday for about £35/40. Good job i checked under my bonnet and noticed the bloody thing.

I have also noticed since it has gone that the car isn't as lively as normal?

Yeah it is i think, along with the Valve stem oil seals.

what is it just leaking oil around the top?

if so mine did that. New gasket and it was fine

Do it yourself easy as pie

Drives supercharged Tec with torque

yeah mine went... about £16 for the parts and some grease to hold the little rubber 'o' rings in and about a couple of hours time if you've never done much to the engines before!
