Surely things like this should go up for vote first. Wasting £30,000 of tax payers money on bloody flip flops
Guarantee 90% of the population would have said no.

I'm gonna go and get pissed in some high heels next weekend just so i can get a free pair of flip flops. They better have a pair in my size (15) otherwise i'm gonna sue them for discrimination!!!

Did you read it? Its not a case of giving out the flip flops out willy nilly. They get information given to them which could stop them getting so wasted they can walk properly next time.

Stop jumping on a bandwagon, £30k is roughly 6/7 peoples maximum tax for a year on the average wage.

Sorry yeah you're right, this is a vital issue, police patrolling the town centre of a friday night telling women not to get so pissed next time and giving them flat shoes.

As long as they don't discriminate against guys wearing them as well I don't mind.

The purple ones that Police officer has in his hand would go with my eyes.

And they're obviously going to read said information and not just bin the flip flops the next morning.

An admirable notion, you should be commended.
I'd do the same but none of them want to come back to mine. Do they want help or don't they??

The usual media bollocks though it even says
"The £30,000 will also help pay for free condoms and rape alarms available to girls on nights out."

So they are clearly making a story out of it a sensationaling it, I bet if you dig deeper into it there is a lot more than just flip flops for the 30,000, and also lets face it, 30k is fuck all in the scheme of things, a said I bet someone spraining an ankle soon costs a few k in on costs from their treatment etc.

Personally, if you get injured (from your own stupidity) when drunk you should have to foot the bill.
