Just want some advice on buying some products really, know a few of you on here are detailers or fairly interested in it.

Dad's just bought a new TT in Condor grey (gunmetal) and was offered the option of supaguarding it for £300!Does anyone know what they do or can it be done by myself if I buy the Supaguard kit?

Also was wondering on what people find are the best polishes, waxes and sealants are.Know some of you rate Poor boys polish and jetseal so considering these.

My cars a deep purple btw if anyone can recommend me the best products for me. Cheers!

don't buy the supaguard, it' a waste.

i have diamondbrite on mine but only because it was free, it's just bascially a polish/wax/sealant thing that lasts ''a few years'' according to the dealer.

could probably do a beter job with a decent polish/wax/sealant from elitecarcare.co.uk or cleanyourcar.co.uk

Supaguard will wear off within a year or so if he then keeps the car clean (ie. polishing once a month or so)

I would suggest:

Wash: Megs Gold Class or Duragloss 901
Dry: Ultra Plush Drying Towels / Waffle Weave drying towels (not the Megs water magnet)
Polish: If it's new, shouldn't need an abrasive polish EVER if its kept clean, so something like Dodo Lime Prime, or even just use a glaze like PB Black Hole
Sealant: Poorboys EX-P, Jetseal 901, Zaino
Wax: Best Value For Money: Collinite 476s or splash the cash on Dodo Juice

Where does a Golf Mk5 fit in those charges - small car? Perhaps thinking of paint correction & full valet.

That said, I'm 70 miles outside your 'standard' area so £35 on top makes things a bit much perhaps......

No damage will be caused, just wasting products as you will be effectively polishing away some of the wax with the sealant, so just compromising the durability

Polish, Glaze, Sealant, Wax

or if the car is swirl free and not in need of a polish, glaze, sealant, wax.

Or as a maintenance: glaze, wax.

Glaze is basically a non abrasive polish.

Glad to be of help!

Erm, swirl marks an issue? If so, Poorboys Black Hole or AG SRP (unless you get a machine and correct them) if it's not too bad, something like Dodo Lime Prime will be alright
