Im looking to buy my 1st car soon.... either a Vauxhall Corsa B Sport or a SXi 1.2L
I just wanted to no how much insurence would be roughly. Is it best to go for fully comp?
Im 17 years old
I have tried doing a few online quotes once and they were saying it would cost me £5000..
Thanks

you may get lucky, my mate had an SXi at 17, think his insurance was £1200 or so. the difference being, when i was 18 i paid the same for a 1.6 sport. this was over 2 years ago now though, and insurance seems to have jumped a fair whack for first time drivers, ie the brother of the mate just mentioned is paying £1900 for a p reg mini cooper

Minis are notoriously expensive to insure.
I paid £1900 fully comp for my first year

Should get it for around £1k - £1500 if you look in the right places!
I think my first insurance on the 1.2 was £795 or something along those lines, I refuse to pay over £1k for 12months insurance policy!
Can see why people don't bother with insurance with silly quotes like £1500+

First year inusrance for 17 year olds is an absolute joke, to insure almost any car in your own name you are looking at £1500 to £2000.
Both my brothers this year and last insured a mk4 astra 1.4 16v and a 1.6 8v and they both paid around the £2000 mark

My first policy was with Bell Direct give them a ring, meant to be quite good with new drivers.

My first policy was with Norwich Union. I had a L reg 1.4LS. TPFT came to £1366, although when I did my Pass Plus (cost me £50 for my driving instructor to sign a piece of paper ) I got a rebate of over £300 I was 17 at the time also, but had an 'A' rated postcode. Good luck

It unfortuante, but its going to be expensive anywhere. 1.5k+
Your 17. Male. New Drive. £££££ insurance wise. thus would be best going for a group1 or group 2 car. 1.2 8v powaa.
Try Quinn- Direct. cheapest i could find when i first got insured.

Quinn seem to be notorious for putting insurance up once you pass.

I was quoted about £700 on my provisional, expected it to go up to maybe £900 when I passed...Oh no. Checked what it'd be with a license. It went up to £1700.
