Following on from the Woolworths thread and the fact the loads of businesses and banks have gone bust this year, who do you think will be next to go?
Aren't Marks and Spencer in a whole world of trouble too?

I very much disagree (apart from safestyle), now that people are watching their pennies these budget shops are making a killing. The uncoolness of shopping there has gone as people need cheap food and goods. It is the luxury goods and non-essentials that will stop being purchased, so the makers and sellers of those products will go.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Marks and Spencers profits have dropped a fair bit in the past few months but i very much doubt it will be anything to worry about.

Estate Agents are taking a huge hit, a large one from around ours has just gone down the pan.
Anything revolving around large outlays will suffer.

I was saying this the other day. pubs nowadays are dead, only pubs that will do well are the ones that serve food.
Weatherspoons is a good example, do good cheap food and reasonably priced ale. Not been out in a couple of months cos just got a new baby daughter, went out last sat and couldn't believe how dead Sheffield city centre was on a sat night..... I can see why though because the prices are fuckin ridiculous. Bought a pint and a taboo in the first pub and is cost me £7.20
