whats the best way to remove these scratches?




way i could think of was to get some touchup pen, and put in in the scratch, use a fine grit wet n dry, then use the G220 or PC to polish it back up again.

what do people think?

Wet and dry it the buff back up!

Looks fairly deep that one

key it up, put some colour in once dry flat it back then clean it and put some lacquer in once dry flat that back and polish it up, if its just solid colour then can just put colour in and polish

just put colour in then, make sure its got hardener in it though or will just rip out with the paper

touch up pen do?

i used the same method on the punto with stone chips, i should be able to do the same no?

the front is covered in stonechips.

im not sure which grit would be best would be best, 3000 is what ive seen on CYC

2000 fine but the finer you go the easier to polish

last question then.

with the kit for the g220 i was looking at you get

1 x Megs Polisher 240V
1 x Bottle of Megs 80 Speed Glaze
1 x Bottle of Megs 83 Dual Action Polish
1 x Megs Cutting Pad
1 x Megs Polishing Pad
1 x Megs Finishing Pad
2 x Plush Microfiber Cloths

to polish it up would i be best with scratchx and the polishing pad?

im not familiar with those products i use 3m. but start with coarse polish working up to the finest one

dont use a pen there wank! get sum wet flatting production paper about P1000 - P1500.. rub the scratch using plenty of water dont go through to primer else you'll be spraying the whole fing again, once the scratch is out use G3 on it.. its like 100000000 times better than T-cut, then get the polisher on it.. other than that just sand it back primer it and spray the whole panel then good luck on blending it in!!

that will never just polish out, you will have to add colour as tom said.

chris trying to polish it back up with a random orbital polisher will take ages. and with those products it wont work.

compound head and some Farecla g3 or g4 will be best

im not trying to polish it out, like i said in my first post, im going to add colour then polish down to it.

but ill use fine grit to flat it out then polish that up.

it will take your eye off it, had a similar scratch on my nova at the top of the door did the same thing and its been to many shows and noone has noticed it, its also a flip pearl so it will be fine on a solid colour

so it does show quite bad irl.

aslong as its gone ish, thats fine, chips away said 250 yet they couldnt guarentee it would be gone :s
