is it really worth the hassle over £30. if you dont pay you may have to fork out more in the future

ring the number (automated call) and pay it over there it gives you a reference number just make a note of that.
i had to do it the other day got it for parking on a path in liverpool.
edit: it also goes off the ticket number not the car/persons details.

ask yourself... if it isnt for your car howcome YOU have the ticket?
when i got mine they wrote down the colour of the car wrong so i could of claimed it wasnt me, but i had the ticket.
tbf just pay the £30 otherwise it doubles and it just seems pointless.

did they tell you that? Thats not the case, the rear windows can be tinted...that is why manufacturers do it from factory (e.g. Meriva).
Front tints are illegal, but you can have anything on the rear windows...

not strictly true,
most cars come from factory with a 30% tint and the legal limit of light that needs to come through is 70% so hence why u cant put any more tint onto the front windows.

The rule is only in place because people were getting killed because some people thought it was a good idea to have limo tints on their windscreens so they couldn't see at night.

some random long link to VOSA
Most cars from factory vary from 10% to 25% tint on the front. The minimum tint film you can get is about 30% darkness (70% transmit of light), so the second it's applied the car would become illegal.
No cars have 0% tinted windows in this day & age. Even my old LS Corsa from 1996 had about a 15% tint from factory on all windows. My Omega is about the same, but is a more prominent green tint.

You must be doing something wrong, in 4 and a half years of driving i've only been pulled about 4 times, and every time I either had a full car, driving like a tit, or on my phone which I got 3 points for, never been stopped "cause he was bored and had nothing better to do and singled me out"

True

Not always the way, I got pulled over for speeding, they wrote my reg wrong, I questioned it and they dropped it because technically I wasnt driving the car in question...

jsut pay the fine and forget about it all, you have 28 days to pay the fine, go over that and it doubles usualy by 50% and you may have to go to court. You drove with illegal tints, so you gota face the consequences.

doing something wrong ...i get pulled because
a) i look young in a modified car
b) my car is loud
c) or im driving with a couple of people in the car
look mate iv been singled out many times due to these plus many other things so dont tell me they dont do it..plenty of experience to know now..

Im not saying they dont do it, just saying I cant see it always being for no reason at all, maybe the odd time, put in a complaint that your being harrased if you think its that bad, but I'd say theres more to it.
