my car was off the road for couple of months getting stuff done to it i changed the gear knob and mines a lift up reverse and at the moment it just goes straight into reverse without lifting it up and i dont wana put it in reverse when i want to be in first anyone know what could be wrong

have you removed the lift up sleeve and refitted it the wrong way round?
