1 - hold one of the buttons down til it starts flashing, can't remember which one.
2- the idle control is on the top towards the back somewhere, someone might have a picture?

Hold the top one to start it off and swap between the sections etc, and the bottom one moves it forward
I don't have any engine bay pics though But yeah it's at the back, you can see the cable and I think you can adjust oen of the screws to make it idle higher.
I've been told my engine sounds like it idles low but then the guy who said it says his sister's 1.6 sport does too

No problem mate. Mine rattles too so it's probably a Vaux thing A bit unrelated but the passenger window handle has no clip on it for some reason so it always falls off

yeh the old 3 cylinder does run a bit shit, just bought one for me brother when he passes, always felt like it was going to stall, anyway turned up the idle... took a few mins for a friend who knows everything there is to know about cars to work it out, and it is easy enough and makes the world of difference.

A lumpy idle is common on the 12v. Imagine a 3 cylinder car with 4 cylinder engine map
