In the thread, he states the insurance offered him 17k to write off. He didn't accept this, and requested that they fully repair with garage. It's now progressing and being resprayed towards the end of the thread.

wtf, £17k as a write off? So they were prepared to pay out £17k, when repairing i.e. full respray is about £5k on something like that?!

It's boggling tbh. I thought write offs were calculated by a % of the cars value in damage.

I saw a Clio 182 parked up a quiet country lane the other night smashed up. Every panel done in, windows smashed and boulders lying on seats.

Horrible find.

Kids these days have no respect for anything, it's like kids having been breaking into houses down my street, and now I don't feel my car is safe.

What they use to strip the paint like that, cos it doesn't look like paint stripper that i've been using at college, and ours is U-POL.
