Just some decent sticky pads should do it, I got some from a local motorfactors and they are stuck fast.

I use trim tape from Halfords.
Great stuff. Its double sided sticky foam.
Edit: used it to stick my black metal plates on and to stick my current plates on.

Just put them on mine, they look ace but they wouldnt stick with anything! Had to sand the back of them down a little to give them a bit of a key and now they seem ok!

as i said above, the really strong velcro strips you can get, my brother had it on his old mk1 golf which had pressed plates, it kept them on with no problems, and he had a normal set in the boot incase he got pulled, which he did once so just whipped the pressed plates off and put the new ones on for the police. said he'd been at a show and forgot to change them back.
