Because we wasn't told to

we didn't hear anything about our dissertation until 1 week ago.

I study Marketing & Media Practices. It's a 60/40 split to the Marketing, but stupidly, the dissertation is a Media module code.

It's only 7.5k words in total including contextual analysis, which isn't worrying me.

I just can't think of ANYTHING.

I was thinking of advertising etc in the credit crunch, and how companies are essentially conning people i.e. the Sainsbury's basket comparison etc.

sounds good though, plenty to talk about there i reckon.... when you start writing however, you will hammer straight past 7.5k. The reccommended word count for mine was 8k and i ended up doing around 15k.

tbh, I don't think I will

depends how much research etc you do I guess.

Ours is half the normal dissertation because the module is only worth 30 credits, not 60. We can do a lot more if we want to.

Media related, TV companies laying off staff because they can't fund it, not enough money from advertising revenue as people aren't buying anything just now. Thus loads of crumby repeats on TV and reality shows

ours was 30 credits. You are right though, it does depend on your research, but you might find you can talk forever about the subject.... i did and it was only about a heavy lift model aircraft competition!
