boy have i missed this place!! surfing just isnt the same. i did this last weekend and i was stuck for a day or two without the help of fellow members.

thank god iv got davelc's msn probably would still be stuck without the guy so thanks

first off a smashed a hole in my sump due a unlevel curb

secondly i rounded the rusty bolt off on the manifold flange

i wacked a imperial on to it and got it off in the end.

i never thought taking a sump off would be so hard, in the end i had to take the downpipe/cat off, radiator, front bumper, aircon rad and water pipe clips that vauxhall must put on so people can never get them off

for future reference you can use a z12xe sump which are easier to find at a breakers than a x12xe sump, a brand new sump was over £200 , £45 from breakers

Bet that made a nice mess on the road!

I was fortunate never to smash a sump on my old Corsa, but then I never went up a kerb unless it was dropped, because it phsyically couldn't.
