How many of you have started applying for graduate jobs? Person in my class has been on about 10 interviews (costing her loads on train fares to london and back) and she has got a job offer, I havent really started looking yet? Anyone not going into graduate positions, just getting a "normal" job and working from there?

I've been offered the possibility of doing a Phd after I graduate, but that's about it... Was thinking of going on and being a pilot, but that's not really going to be possible in the current climate

Suppose it's how sick of uni you are whether you want to do a Phd.
I was personally fed up and sick of assignments and wanted to just get a job.
Why is a pilot not possible in the current climate?

Start looking now!
I left it too late and found that it was a real challenge to get any sort of graduate position!

I've had enough of having to live off of my parents. I could get paid for the Phd, but then I might not. Then, I might only get offered a masters, and I'm not too sure if I can be bothered.
Pilots hard because I'd need a commercial studies loan, they don't exist anymore. Plus, if I do get one the repayments on them are massive now, they are in excess of £1k a month for the people who have managed to get them.

i starting looking around Feb March and had a job secured (unconditional of my result) by April at Marshall Aerospace - a fantastic opertunity given i studied Mechanical rather than Aeronautical Engineering!
i'd say it depends on the work you want and who you apply to

I went to a graduate recruitment fair last week and quite a few companies said they hadn't released all opportunities on their websites yet, so there's still plenty of time, but I'd get looking now, I know my housemates have applied for a fair few places.

It's so depressing. I don't want to sign my life away up until I'm about 70 working 48 weeks a year, probably for a bunch of people who I hate and take advantage of me

Im sick of uni Liam, i was close to quitting end of last year but stuck it out cos Ive already 'spent' 12000 getting as far as i did an it took a rousing talk from one of my fav lecturers to get me to go back this year. Final year is proper difficult, im doing Accountancy and Finance btw, and I now know i want nothing to do with accountancy, but its a decent degree to put on the CV. Problem is everyone is sayin 'minimum of a 2:1 degree', realistically I dont think thats possible tbh its just too difficult so its put me off bothering to draw up loads of bespoke covering letters to only be turned down when i get my result....

3rd year sucks badly. Cant stand it. first and second year really doesnt prepare you for the final year.
Not really hought about jobs etc, but im already in-within one organisation- so should be cool.

I didn't want a grad job, most of the time you end up doing something you don't really want to do.
I didn't apply for any jobs until about a month before my final exams. I applied for 3 jobs, got 3 interviews, got 2 callbacks and offered the 3rd job............now i'm on quite a lot more money than most of my friends working for a very respectable company in a good job.

I went to the jet terminal they run there there the other day for a flying test. We were in a little two seater Robin and we were lining up on the runway behind a massive Glufstream. I felt a little bit vulnerable
