I was parked in a well lit car park earlier and a woman in a fiesta reversed into my car and has cracked the bumper and scuffed it fairly bad.

She took my name, address and number and who I was insured with and all I got was her name and number.

What do I do now?
Do I go and get a quote for the repair or do I wait and if so how long?

ring the lady up and see if she wants to go through insurance or to pay for it at a bodyshop, if she says insurance ring up your insurance company tomorrow, tell them you had an accident and they will sort it from there
if shes paying for it go to a bodyshop and get a quote for it then ring her about it

I forgot to get her registration but she parks in the same place all the time.
She said she was going to sort it through her insurance.

She was in her 50s and seemed middle classish so hopefully won't have any problems.

police wont attend. all they will tell you to do is exchange details. what use of police resources would attendance really be? if someone was injured then yes, but not just for damage.

police attend if someone is injured, damage to anything other than vehicles involved ie sign, lamppost etc, road blocked. police wont necessarily tell you if details are correct, but you can report the accident anyway. providing you have reg. no, your insurance can obtain all the info needed from police, but they have to pay for that info which is why you are always asked by insurance co to get as much as possible. bottom line is all you really need is reg no.

Depends how busy they are etc, as said though they don't have to attend a simple RTA, unless there,s injury, road blocked, further damage etc
