funny you should mention it actually, just got it again today
had it last year for 3 months couldn't get rid of it!
go to doctors and get penecillin, if that doens't work get metronidazole
it will be hard to swallow, glands around the side of your neck under your jaw line will be enflamed, and tonsils look big and ulcery with lots of flem and gue!

Found this:-
Symptoms can be:
red and swollen tonsils,
pain on swallowing,
fever (which can be very high in young children),
coughing,
headaches,
tiredness,
pain in your ears, or neck,
white pus filled spots on your tonsils, and
swollen lymph nodes (glands) in your neck.
Considering I have all off these, is it likely I have it?

Do you feel like shit when you had it? I mean, do you have to take time off work and all that?

You wont be able to swallow. Your tongue will go yellow and your mouth will taste horrible. It's good fun

I had my tonsils out when I was about 6.
That was the best thing I ever did. I got a Mega drive, Master System and a Batman Scaletrix set just for going into hospital to have it done!

Yeah and I bet that was when they gave you icecream and stuff. These days if you have your tonsils out they give you scratchy foods like weetabix and cornflakes.
I had tonsilitis last year and year before, it was awful. I lost my voice and couldn't speak for about a week which was truly awful for me as I'm a bit of a chatterbox!
I hope you're feeling better soon. Go to the docs and get some antibiotics

Generally, multiple times a year before consideration of ENT surgery.
BUT they will do it if you make a big fuss and ham it up a bit about it impacting on your life e.g. work/livelihood etc...

You'd get better more quickly if you went to the doctors and got antibiotics (assuming it actually is tonsilitis that is). Once you've started you course you should feel better within a few days, and fully fit a couple of days after the course is finished (have to work through your system etc).

Doctor says I don't need anti biotics 'cause I'm young and my immune system is strong enough to fight it by itself...
Should I phone another Doctor

Yeah and ask to see his qualifications too haha. You're entitled to get a second opinion if that's what you want and you're unhappy with what the first doctor has said. I take it you've actually had an appointment and been diagnosed then?
