power!
Cupra R in the facelift is 225bhp whilst the cupra is 180?
Cambelt at 60k i think. Water pump problem as per the golf i imagine?
Dont really know anything tbh 
Nice car though i know that!

The only thing that would put me off getting one of these would be the fact its a turbo..
After owning a LET its made me think about staying away from forced induction alltogether....but the LCR being a lot newer am i right in thinking that my thoughts are just bull and they would be far more reliable if looked after?

LCR's are nice cars.
£440 tax though, Cambelt and Pump have to be done by 60k, many get them done before.
Usual problems involve dodgy door locks and dodgy insrument clusters

Just got myself a Leon Cupra (not an R)
As said ^ Water pumps go, MAF sensor also.
Difference is what you would normally expect, little red Rs dotted around, different seats, 220ish bhp standard, cupra is 180 standard. Brembo brakes in the R.

And yeah, insurance is alot. Make sure you do a confused.com and get an elephant quote, they were by far the cheapest for me (by like £800) and the fully comp was alot cheaper than third party.

They are very very good cars, extremely quick (especially when remapped) but servicing and upkeep can be expensive. Good brakes and tyres don't come cheap, and you will go through front tyres like there's no tomorrow.
Common faults:
Open the bonnet, start the car and turn the aircon on. The fans in the engine bay should spin slowly. If they don't spin slow, but instead pulse on and off at high speed (might need to let it run for a while to see the fast spin), then the fan assembly needs replaced = £300-£400 at a main dealer.
Make sure the carpets are dry, the Leon door seals often perish and let in water.
Check that the rear wash doesn't follow the wiper. It should always spray in the middle. If it follows the wiper, then it has begun to corrode and will soon wet the boot.
Check the brake disks and pads - if they need replaced soon it can cost a fair bit.

mate liked his but has had a lot of problems including the boot turning into a swimming pool. Meant to handle well and look good. But not that ive checked prices recently they are vastly overpriced (could be different now)

The tax aint that expensive Pow. It's in the lower bracket £300 ish next year.
Dione J it aint the fans that need replacing, it's an electrical fault. You can get a box for £80 that sorts out the electrics.

Check the door locks as well! I cannot strress that enough - my Ibiza uses the same door lock and they are prone to fucking up. Dealer wants £300 a DOOR to fix, and theres 4 doors on the LCR

I had the problem with slow speed fans packing up, the main dealer said they has to replace both the fans to cure it? Fortunately for me it was all done under warranty.

My passenger rear door has just stopped working, I've been quoted £128 to get it fixed, that's not at a main dealer though.
