Surprised none of the BNP fanatics have spotted this yet.
It is a complete joke though when even the muslim leaders are against it.

this is the stem of racism, people wouldnt be arsed if they all came living and working here if they didnt try to take over, Imagine if we all moved to the middle east and started building christian churches and putting fairy lights up

The muslims officials are against it. They WANT to have christmas, they said they arent offended by other peoples faith, which is bizzare for a muslim to say, but hey im all for that.

even if they were offended does anyone really give a shit? they know where to go if they dont like it. We're in the uk where Christmas is the biggest thing of the year. Shouldnt even be up for negotiation.

It's ok for them to celebrate all their hundreds and thousands of festivals and call them what they like

all the folk from Oxford who are against this should get down to the lights "switch on" in Father Christmas outfits and sing Christmas carols in protest. Not sure what the law is on protests but i would risk getting arrested for this if it happened in Manchester.

It's a fucking joke. They come to our country with their festivals, beliefs, whatever and expect us to adapt (which we do) to their culture and rules.
You're right, they do know where to go but why would they? We'll just give in and cancel xmas just for them bastards.
This country is a fucking mess.

its not the ethnic minorities at fault here though. Its the PC wankers assuming that we will offend people and religions by celebrating the biggest yearly event our culture has.

I live and work in Oxford and to be honest I couldnt care less.
Our councill havnt spent any money on christmas for years- the lights are pretty much non existant.
Im not a Christian so why would I care if the word Christ isnt used- I dont believe in him anyway so why should it matter to me?
Cant believe people get so upset about this crap- they havnt cancelled christmas- they have just decided not to use the word christ-

Im not christian, but celebrate the non-religeous side of xmas. I dont want to be told we cant in our own country.

Isnt that what they are trying to do - let everyone celebrate the season of good will without getting christ involved? They are not telling you not to celebrate christmass- they are having a big celebration with lights and trees and stuff- they are just calling it the winter lights festival instead of christmas....is it really that big a deal?
They are actually doing more for christmas this year in oxford than they ever have before in my life time
Dont really see why the title of this thread is "christmas banned in oxford" - its not what they are doing.
