I've always wanted to get into this. Is there a website where I can find any local clubs / venues etc?

Oh my goodness. Nik I've been doing this since I was 12 years old.
I started in 1994 with my spring action Automag III, that was my first skirmish but back then nobody else had electric guns so it was fair.
I got into it massively about 1998 when a few lads in the year above me started going, my first electric gun was a Marui MP5A5 with the folding stock, we used to go to Firefight in Mapledurham.
I've had dozens of guns, at the moment I have got a G36C with a Smokeys foregrip that holds a 9.6v 3400mh battery, rate of fire is ridiculous. I also have a M4A1, one of the first models that came out, I bought it when I first started full time work in 2000 and my current favourite is my solid stock AK47 which I'm currently furnishing in real wood and a full metal body kit.
All my guns are Marui but recently the Classic Army ones are growing on me.
What loadout do you use Nik? I'm currently going as Vietcong rebel so I can smash all the people in American loadouts.
My German loadout is the best thing ever though, I spend hundreds on it. Even have proper Flecktarn body armour, and kevlar helmet.

Blokes at my old job used to do this. Tried to get me along but far to early a start for me
But they were spending like £1k+ on guns, money that could be used on some new patio doors, or on a bike My days of dressing up like a tree were long gone from the cadets
Looks much more fun that paintballing though, and the guns are more real life like, you can create more "real world" situations, which i find the drawback (plus the headshots arn't good) with paintballing.

The guns back when I first started were ridiculously expensive, I remember the first electric gun the FA-MAS without hop up was £500 quid and was dogshit.
These days you can get Marui AEG for £250 in a package with a battery and a high capacity magazine.
It is much better than paintballing, far more realistic and like you say people tend to take it far more seriously. More tactics involved as the AEG's have a lot longer range than paintball guns.

Theres a big place north of the M25, about an hour n half from my way. Think its an ex military training ground, loads of buildings and such. They all go there.

My local place is in Eversley, planning on going again soon. My mate comes along and throws himself in the brambles, get deep in cover then doesn't see a single person the entire game. I prefer to flank the team and come up from behind

Usually british army desert or woodland but I've found an American look I really like although it's expensive. Not sure what gun I'll be buying next, need a new hand gun so maybe a Glock 17 or something. My mate went mental with kit, has the kevlar armour etc looks cool though

Slightly different kind of pain really, the guns are more accurate so you are more likely to get a face shot etc. Obviously depends where you are hit but I was hit in the elbow the other week and that hurt. I would say it hurts more than paintball.
