The C20XE meets early emissions regulations, the 20XE doesn't.

the loom has lambda sensor wiring (from astra gte by the looks- with seperate start/charge loom) and exhaust had lambda fitted- but no cat

the engine has traction controll too ( thats from later models i'm sure )

have i got a mix and match engine or something? LOL

the "C" stands for an Emitions code, emitions werent an issue before 1990 but since J reg all cars produced must have a cat converter on it! hence the C20XE after 1990, then X then Z iirc

I've heard the 20XE is 156bhp, and the C20XE is 150bhp. True?

the c20xe's came with a coscat head too..

my dispac engine has a coscat head, and it's not a retro fit, it's a proper one made for the dispac engine's, with coil pack holder on it

also, the flywheel only changes on the "LN" engine's, the c20xe with dissy, has the flat type one

Only a few early XEs had the coscast head not all of them.It was just mix and match.

And some of the later dis-pack motors came with them(astra gsi's)as standard but only a very few.

Oh and also some of the K plate calibras had a dizzy motor with pot type flywheel.
