Had an accident on the way home, got no pictures though. Woman hit me side on as I pulled out across a cross-road (my fault).

Her micra was in a pretty bad way, my C looked fairly ok really.

She ruined my passenger rear 3/4 and buckled the rear passenger side tyre. Don't suppose thats enough to go on for a rough cost of repair is it?

Probably irrelevant as I'll be liable for her car but worth asking.....

Rear 3/4 is lots of labour. Wheel damage from that angle would indicate axle/suspension damage. Could be loads as a guess.

If you're insured fully comp, by just what you've said, sounds like it'll be a write off.

There is hope though, my car wasn't written off and was in quite a bad way - but the rear 3/4 is a lot of labour, not just bolt on and off.

Bit shit when it happens good you're ok though - cars can be replaced!

I'm fully comp but thought that rear 3/4 could be pretty expensive.

Its a 56 plate so really just hoping it isn't written off TBH.

Fuck, has been written off. Approved repairers phoned this morning to say it was generally ok and would be repaired.

Then they phone again this afternoon to say they've started stripping the interior and the chassis is damaged and so its uneconomical to repair.

Dunno what to do now, loved that car

Thousands probably.

My 2 accidents last year were 3k for front end (no wing damage) & 400 for rear bumper & bits.

you will get a cash pay out but it obviously means finding another car.

As said, don't accept the 1st offer - not always simple when it's your fault, but worth a go just say equivalent cars you've been looking at are more on the 2nd hand market etc.

Had a look down the local Vauxhall garage and they have one exactly the same as mine (colour, mileage, spec) which is going up for £6000. Really would like that much back but we'll see what the insurance offer first time and go from there.

Definately won't accept first offer as said though

With a bit of luck you'll get £6k tbh. Normally you have more say if it isn't your fault and they're claiming on your behalf i.e. the Mirca lady, but 'cause it's the other way round, you might get offered £5k or something.

Surely you should get the same whether its your fault or not (before taking off the excess of course).....

I don't know, just shocked I'm not going to get it back
