we are getting new slates put on our roof and the guy that was doing it dropped one and went into my back window he said he would pay for it but feck knows how im going to get to work, humph!

count yourself lucky really, back window is easier to fix/replace than if it landed on the roof or hit a panel

Just drive the car with the back window taped up.

its not smashed right through it just has loads of cracked lines, and due my car being bumpy i think it would just shatter where ever i go

Black bin bag on the back window you'll be fine, just use your wing mirrors.

Open your boot and tape the inside up or tape a black bin liner around it do same on outside so if it smashes your not going to have glass in the car / on the road!

The rear screen should be laminated so it wont shatter unless you really beat the crap out of it.

I drove with the passenger rear window smashed after it got broke into. Granted I smashed the rest of the glass out in frustration but Daniel has the right idea

Oh & I always move my car when people are doing work around it!

Just go down the scrappy and get a rear screen.. VERY VERY easy to remove, just disconnect the heater contacts, then from the inside pull back the rubber bit by bit and push the glass outwards.
