My adventure started a few weeks ago when I got an email off Ojc asking me if me, jr and fad would like to go to Nurburgring in 2 weeks time, within 10 minutes of receiving the email I had got the OK from work and was all ready for a long weekend in Nurburg.
My excuse for going again so soon?

1 lap left on my ticket, I couldnt waste the 22 euros or whatever it is!
Got to Kent for around 5.30am and we traveled at speed to the channel tunnel

The trip was nice, 40 minutes going through a tunnel then 6 hours of pure countryside to the 'Ring. Soon as we got there we unloaded the car into the hotel and set about going to the view point to look at some cars.
Picture of some shrine/gravething for someones mate it would seem

Anyway, the cars:

Skyline camp

Race prep mini

Trevors

Cool M3 paint job...

Actually its a wrap!!

We were told on the weekends/tourist days you need to get your laps in before 10.30 and then in the late afternoon for the best action because everything gets closed during the day....and the locals were right
Everyone lining up to get off, people on the right waiting to get back on as soon as the track opens.

The reason?

While the track is closed its best to go get your daily portion of sausage and chips, we also found beauties such as this

And some other german crap in the background

THEN on Sunday jr did something out of character and rented a Ring Car! Here she is...

Mint

Ignus, caged, R888's, stripped out, bucket seats, 5 point harnasses. This little jap shit box was amazing! James is an amazing driver when it comes to the track too and he made this car come to life! We were over taking M5's and all sorts on the track, shame it lacked enough power for us to thunder up the steep climbs but it was defaintly good fun!

Sadly we didn't do as many laps as hoped due to funds and the famous Death Rattle.
Did somebody say porsche?

On Monday we planned to get the last two laps done in the Astra and then go home, we got to the carpark early to pose for pics

They were fixing the track from Sundays off where a BMW decided to kiss the armco after the karrsell

BUT SADLY our lap wasnt everything we wanted to be, the track was still damp and one CSL owner told me it was pretty dangerous out there! On our lap we passed a UK Clio that had smashed into the armco and had the airbags go off! I hope hes ok. This was a very very cold reminder that even on straightish parts of the track there is plenty of margin for error and ruin your weekend. After our semi sedated lap we decided it was time to head home! We packed the car with Nurburgring Mugs and Coke then set off.
Germany

At the boarder we and another car containing a one legged man got stopped!

But after a few quiet words we were on our way home!
And thats it, my second trip of the year! I'd like to thank ojc for inviting me along in the first place, what a gent.

Pfff straights are for jessies with bigger ego's than balls.
You can have fun in a 1.2 16v Corsa if your driving it right.
I hate these posts, im missing out still

All good saying that but the fact is you need the power to over take people who are getting in your way, a few times we needed to overtake but couldnt because of the hills within the track which meant we had to hold back ALOT.
Plus when you spanked the guy in the bigger car on one corner its nice to keep up or at least leave him/her in your dust but you dont, you just get overtaken on the straights and never see them again cause they get ahead of you so much!

Meh, its not a lapped race, feel smug knowing your £10 sh1tter has cained some ponce in a supercar because he's rich and cannot drive
Let them put their foot down and go, worry about getting that next car at the next corner

Sadly I think your stereotype/porsche jealousy wont fly round much round the ring, most of the owners of the supercars know how to drive them and are no shy to show it from my limited experience over there!!

Oh don't get me wrong, 90% of those drivers will know how to drive, they wouldn't be there otherwise. Thats why theres specific tuning factories based all around nurb.
PS, im not a porsche/rarri man. Wouldnt say no, but wouldn't be in the purchase list when that lottery comes in
But then as most drivers can drive, no Ignis, not even with a rocket up its arse and more areodynamics than the entire F1 field will allow it to keep up
