Yes they're airbags Kerry.

TBH the damage doesn't look too bad. Appears to be only cosmetic. Needs all new bodywork on driver's side though

Apparently it was not his car, theres a thread on the Audi forums about it. It was an Audi UK loan car. And also apparently Audi will not repair a car when the side air bags go off and they re-shell it. Expensive!

According to another site, he was also trying to copy the Black RS4, which incidently was being driven by a professional driver but looks like he got it a bit wrong.
