i obviously didnt see the note poppin out ma arse tellin me im gunna be ill 2day

no but most places have some form of policy to phone in well in advance if poss, but not on books reason 1, not even attampting to ring him or leave a v/mail reason 2

If he has been getting paid to do a job, and can prove this, then he has rights. No matter if he has a contract or not.

If he wants the hassle of reporting him when he may well get himself in trouble with the revenue is another matter.
