what car would you go for out of these? audi a3/ibiza 1.8t, pug 106gti , crx del sol/civic vti or a astra mk 4 sri ? reason i ask is went to avon raceway yesterday & my ek vti didnt really cut it on the strip was running 16's. budget i got is bout 2.5k with a bit extra for mods

saw 1 run was getting 14's he was, think the n/a route would prob be best. but also i want to use it as a every day car aswell

i wouldnt bother with any vtec for drag racing, they either bog down and you're waiting and waiting for the vtec or they just spin on the line (coming from an owner of an ek9, jdm ep3 and dc5).

pulsar gti-r is a good bet, they do 13s standard iirc.

martin you are right it was slow of the line even tho i reckon i had a gd start,pulsar ummm marmite car for me tbh..i thin a 106 would make a good drag car,,plus i be able to use it on the road every day as well

they're maybe fugly, but they're quick, reliable, 4wd for good starts and big power is achievable compared to 106.

MR2 turbo or Pulsar would get my vote.

300bhp is cheap to do on a Pulsar and will do 12s all day long.........well as long as the gearbox lasts with constant launches.

I would go for an impreza. CAn get one easily for that money and will do 13's as standard.

i had an eg civic with a k20 tpye r engine in it and i got 12.1 quater with a slipping clutch, but like martin sed your always waitin fot the tec and it can kick in on the start and really piss you off but when it kicks in right its awesome u agree martin?

yeah its good, but by the time you get going, the other car is half way up the 1/4! i'll probably never bother with putting the dc5 on a 1/4. i know they do about 14.5 all day long so that'll do.
