I dont see the point in all this winter wheel nonsense, fair enough if they cost alot and are for show use, why not just use the fan blades for winter then?

Your soft stars are worth fuck all and they are not going to get damaged in the winter by salt etc. Stop being a fanny. If your wheels are worth several thousand then you are allowed.
The amount of thread like this recently i think you want a vw

195/45s are on the softstars n dont fancy getting them swapped back over tbh..
the softstars have just been refurbed and powdercoated so dont realy fancy wrecking them or scuffing them when it gets icey..
for the sake of £50 for some corsa gsi rims and budget tyres i think its worth it..
just wondering if 185/45/14s would rub..

you wont scuff them unless you drive into anything
And it would cost about that to get a wheel re powdercoated if you did

there is your problem. You are more worried about the wheels than the tyres that you put on them. Why would you put budget tyres on when you are going into winter, when its the only part of your car that is in contact with the road

well im guessing they would be a budget tyre on them as standard tbh, nothing special anyways, so i would use them with normal tyres..

winter wheels on a corsa makes me laugh regardless of who/what condition the car is in. hows about you wash your car and keep it clean in the winter months?
cars are designed to run in the winter, its like people who buy dogs and just carry them about.

I dont have any issues with the speedlines on? I said i'll be raising the car back upto 60mm when I use my 14" 3 spokes because it would be stupidly low

well, if your running a 195/40/16 then they will more than likely have the same rolling radius as the 14" wheels, so it wont be any lower

Fairplay. These i understand to change. Bare metal and salt dont go well together.
but i really dont understand changing speedines etc, and every other et49 generic wheel. surley if you drive senible in the winter conditions then you wont scuff etc.
Winter wheels imo should only be done when you have a wheel, where the winter roads/and salt affects the alloy itself.
