Agree, i love the front end, although the Mk5 was agressive.

I love the interior to be honest.

I may wait for Mk5 prices to sink, when the mk6 starts hitting dealerships, than snap one up.

I like it but I wish they'd do a crazy lightweight one.

A light version a la Clio Cup would be

Is it true that they have moved to the MkVI so soon because VW are not making enough profit out of the the MkV?

It's only a facelift though. It's hardly a whole new Golf

Not keen on the wheels or the inevitable price. 20 grand for a Golf? fuck that.

same as my focus, although every body panel is different from the old focus, people still think of it as just a facelift rather than a whole new model.

ford are selling it as a new model though.

it's all marketing bollocks to make you think you're buying a totally new car rather than a facelifted version of the old one.

Your Focus is a whole new model. The Mk6 Golf has the same chassis (minus rear suspension), roof and (in GTI guise) wheels as the Mk5. VW themselves have admitted that rather than a model lasting eight or so years like they did in the past, it is now more cost effective to have a single platform lasting ten years, then having a facelift after five...in effect gving the affect of two new models, but with only one set of major design costs.
