Oh yes, it does fit

Complete with Tremec T56 'box, which lines up in the original hole, soon to have a big rootes blower wedged in the vee.

There's enough room for a V12 in an Omega bay, if it was an LS1 with 4 more cylinders

5.7 litre V8 from a Corvette, makes ~350bhp standard. All alloy, weighs very little.

Will be supercharged and have considerably more than that.

The gearbox cradle has 2 sets of captive nuts, the fronts line up with the standard R28 box, the rear ones, well, they line up pretty much exactly with the new gearbox

Commodore chassis was longer BTW.

You're sort of right, it's based on the same chassis, but it's not exactly the same.

IF this is the one I'm thinking about, the 5.7 is being bored out to 5.9... (well, thats the intention) along with lowering the compression if the right blower is obtained.

also something about a custom rear mount for gearbox support...???

Altho, there may be more than 1 I know of being done at this moment in time

2.5 and 3.0 engines, but lower power output compared to UK/Europe engines.

They never got the 3.2 or 2.6 DBW setups.

See, I'm keeping mine simple

3.2 with a blower running relatively low, but stable, boost on a standard ecu which has been chipped.

That's what this was going to be, it used to be a charged 2.6 but he got bored, wanted a properly built 3 litre, rods, pistons, the works, but we persuaded him to have a proper engine.

Blown 3.2 would be nice, although I'd favour the 3 litre to be honest.

bottom end in the 3.2 is stronger though plus as far as im aware, would be the only 3.2 pre-facelift omega in the UK if I can get it done in time.

Far easier to get bigger power from the LS engines though.

Very nice.

Does anyone know what happened to Petes Mk4 Saloon Astra with the LS6 lump he was putting in? Saw it a few years back in a project, all the transmission tunnel etc was all done, then never heard anymore.

400+ V8 BHP in a Mk4 Astra Shell, awesome!!!
