I'd have said 8 due to the single camshaft - don't know if that's a proper way to check though.

Those of you that said 16..... You are correct! It's of my Astra when i changed the rocker cover gasket.

Those that got it wrong, this was a valuable lesson for you.

Yeah it is. I was shocked when i 1st opened the bonnet many many years ago. I thought that it must be 8v due to the small size. Then when it was time to change the rocker cover gasket, this is what i found.

I thought that i'd share this with everyone.

if you look at the cam it has 8 lobes. 2 valves to each lobe - 16 valves!
