You don't know unless you ask. There have been lots of examples of people doing without asking. Sand in the inlet, painted brake disks. You name it.

What is this filler inthe airbox thing people are on about though. I think I've missed something.

Look for a guy alled 20valver (or something), done a huge thread about the airbox on his 1.4 mk3 Astra and how he modified it using filler to smooth the airflow and create a pressure vortex or some shit - and how you'd need at least 200bhp to keep up with a two stroke off the lights - I can't remember the details but Robin got really really angry so it's worth reading!
