, id never own a Saxo VTR/VTS, simply because everyone I see they are always on the side of the road with hazard lights flashing, surely you can get something else thats a 1.6? just my opinion.
Edit: spelling

very same as the 106GTI i would pick the 106 over the saxo not that i dont like the saxo or anything just think the 106GTI's look good
everyone seams to think there shit and always brake down, its the fact that most young twats have them and drive them to the bone and dont service or look after them, shop about and find a good one then your onto a winner

My VTR runs very well, and gets a good hammering from time to time! Every bit as reliable as a Corsa, infact, everyone I know who has had a Corsa C has had a problem or other. Gear linkages going at 30k No thanks. VTS is a good quick car

I end up posting pics of mine weekly

Ace cars. Build quality might not be BMW standard, but it certainly is no less a car than a corsa (faster than any of them tho).

Cheers Sold it for £1900 about 6months ago.
My advice...it may look cool, but don't go as low as mine. Then again, if you like a bumpy ride then go for it. My g/f and daughter hated it.

i have a vtr and love it. ive just had 180 miles out of £20 as well which is pretty good imo! mines about as low as bretts and its a great fun ride if not a little tedious at times.
if you dislike rattles keep well away, theres not a single piece of interior trim that doesnt rattle like a bitch at as littl as 2mph but other than that i have had 0 reliability issues

Idiot.
Very reliable car's as most french one's are. Just watch out for sloppy gearsticks and general knocks when turning. Engines are bullet proof.

Good cars
Quick, handle very well and can be made faster with just a few choice mods.

My 106 (same car really) is original and never been messed around with i.e interior panels being removed for speakers and that and theres not rattles from it .
So far its been fine for reliability but then again I don't screw it round so it should be fine

I always said id rather have a 106 gti over a VTS but tbh GTI's are getting really common and u hardly ever see a VTS tuned like a 106 these days.
So P2 VTS gets my vote.Infact im starting to like them myself.

My bros got a VTR, everyone he knows off saxperience always get VTS coversions, but hes getting his cammed and tb'd so he'll have roughly 150bhp if hes lucky
had his upper and lower struts put on at the weekend and the handlings so much better, but he has problems with speed bumps, its lowered 50mm the lower strut scrapes on the big speed bumps.
i would definatley advice a VTS, handling is supreme, my friend sold his VTR to get a VTS and its so quick its unbeleivable =]

Mate has got one, used to have a Polo GTi - till the gearbox went bang
Said it's a bit quicker and handles nice but the interior is shocking and build quality is also poor
