We had 15 tons of this, just vanish overnight:

Our waste compactor

Who and why are questions begging for answers.

'Who' would be thieving shitcunts.

'Why' would be because it's worth a small fortune.

I think 'how' would be the pertinent question though Tiger.

Scrap metal values are high at the moment - there's your "why"

Why the fuck would you steal a rubbish compactor to sell for scrap metal?
Surely it would be a hell of a lot easier and make a lot more sense to steal a plain container?

It's obviously worth a good bit as SVM pointed out and they obviously had the correct type of lorry/equipment to take it away.

That's why and how sorted anyway - now all you need to do is keep an eye out for a 30-40 foot long green container. And I doubt it'll be in the local scrappy's

Things is, I know copper and stuff have good value but surely a hulk of shitty mild steel sheet and box section hasnt go that much value.

I laughed my ass off when I was told lol - we've had loads of stuff nicked, we had one bloke turn up to 'collect' about £30,000 of stainless - it turns out that after our guys helped him load it onto his dropside and he had fucked off, that he was just some random cheeky pikie who had big balls

Happened at my work in the exact same way mate. We make pumps for large industrial uses and someone came in, said they were picking up a 1 tonne brass impeller that was sitting around and got off with it, no questions asked. One of the employees even loaded it up

It'll probably get sold as is. Some slippery company will pay a knocked down price for it.

I know a couple of people who *allegedly* walked into a bathroom warehouse and walked out with a boxed bathroom set - just walked over to it, picked it up and walked out, even had the staff hold the doors open for them on the way out....

Is it quite that easy. Why would the recyle plant take something that would raise question about whether or not its stolen
