Hi there folks i've just bought a corsa 1600 and wen it is running it seems to be loud from the gearbox just thinking it may be low on gearbox oil???
If it was low on oil would it be noisey or could it be something else??????
you know like wen a engine is low on oil there noisey as are gearboxes the same????????????

sometimes if they are stood it can make a noise, the box hold 1.6 litres there is a level plug on the passenger side above the driveshaft.

so should a just check the level fill it if needs be and see how it is

just been running it for a bit the gearbox is still noisey.
I've just found out that the noise goes away wen the clutch is depressed

could be the clutch release bearing. mine rattles when the clutch is released. especially when the car is first started.
dunno how its rattling but that is defo what it is...and it doesnt cause any harm!
