It's when you can go faster in a 1.7CDTi for very similar money, imho.
They aren't much more to buy initially now, cost of extra diesel pahhh that's what you pay for the privilege, tax is the same as a 1.4 16v, and faster.

Tax n the 1.7CDTi will be less than the 1.8? You can't compaire the 1.4 to the 1.7CDTi.

Yes, massively. But what I'm saying is you can get a 1.7 for the same money as a 1.4, and all it'll cost extra is diesel. Tax is the same as a 1.4. 1.7 goes faster than 1.4.

Much rather pay higher tax than have that dirty black sut come out my exhaust 
MPG can feck that too - 25mpg is the future!
