I have the name and address of the previous owner of my car, I want to know if it has had work done due to 2 re-calls the Punto had when it was launched, Im also curious as to why he bought a top spec car with every option then sold it when it was 13 months old......

Is this a common thing to do or is it going to make me seem like a fucking weirdo

Due to re-call work, Fiat should have it logged in their systems

I just phoned up the garages in the service book, most owners of cars like that wouldn't know what it's had done.

sound, they needed a part changing that affected the strength of the car in a crash, this bit was the difference between it being a 4 star car and a 5 star car, cant remember what the other one was Il have to double check

Ring Fiat and ask them, they will know if the recalls were done.

Also, if you ask why he sold it. I hope he tells you it was in a real bad crash and it kept breaking down. Will make you wish you hadn't bothered

why would it be weird to buy a top spec car then sell it 13 months later?

a lot of people buy cars then sell them for the newest reg every 9/12 months. a lot of the time the dealers give optional extras for free or for very little extra.

Fair enough about the recalls

But what has it got to do with you that he sold it?

it should be logged on our system what recalls are outstanding.

the recall you describe sounds like the replacement steering cowl... pretty much in a crash it would cut into your knees
