Hi all,
Ive been looking at getting a bigger car for my growing family and am looking at something with a V6 engine in it cause ive never had one before.
Im looking at either a Vectra 2.5 V6, Rover MGZS V6 or an Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6.
Which of these cars would people recommend and why as I dont know much about any of them.
Cheers

I'd go Vectra. Alphas are expensive when they go wrong.
Tbh though why a V6? A guy at across the road has a GSI veccy V6 and says its thirsty and a money pit.

Im not sure really just always wanted to own a V6 and I love the sound they make. What else would you recommend then?

Are the 2.2's very tuneable though. Because it would only cost me £500 to have at least 210bhp and a lot of torque in a vectra V6.

Vectra. Having had both a Vectra and an Alfa 156 in the family, I'd definitely go for the Vectra.

If you get a vectra get a gsi if you can afford it, the v6 sri like i have arent anything special, they make abit of noise and that's about it, they arent slow by any means but nothing to get excited about.

Id just go for the 2.0 SRi Vectra, its not worth the petrol for the V6 in it, cause they arent fast as Danny said, and ive had 2 now, Brother had a GSi and that was quicker but still nothing special

What would a SRi V6 be like up against a Corsa GSi with decat and induction kit.

I realise that is make me sound like im 12 years old but im selling me Corsa GSi and even though i need a bigger car I dont want it to be slower.
Also my friend had a Vectra SRi V6 and when I had my Cavalier SRi Eco I kept up with him upto about 120mph, and to be honest my corsa fells just as quick as my old cavalier but I would have a thought the extra 60bhp in a v6 would kill the corsa from the start.
(I also realise this makes me sound like a chav but honestly im not!!)

thought about a V6 supertouring? i quite like them
also remember the GSi is more powerful than the SRi and the supertouring, so something to take into consideration

Well funny you should say that but I was thinking about making a Vectra ST200 Rep ESTATE as I dont think any one has gone the full whack on one yet with the AP Brakes and other bits an bobs.

Supertourings are stunning standard, sri's are pretty bland, and the gsi is basically the same as a supertouring, apart from a few little things.

Becuase they never made an ST estate andI like the look of the Vectra estates.
Something different when at a show.
