You don't need to run a new car in, drive it like you stole it!

How I treated the brand new Mini courtesy car when mine was in being fixed, I didn't rate the mini, hence me not getting the Cooper S like planned!

The face lift ones are terrible also, the pre-face lift is a FAR better car but only good for driving around town IMO.
