My mate is trying to sell his car, we wont go into the morals of it being uninsured but for a few months it was, and he was driving it, he got caught, paid the fine took the points and is now selling it

a buyer is wary of buying it because Its been uninsured and says it will be on a database and that he will be getting pulled every time a copper drives past

Bollocks or truth?

bollocks. the V5 will show a change of owner, and if he gets stopped once and checked, then the police will take the marker off the car.

thats a stupid thing to be wary of!

if someone else buys it, the police details should be for the new owner, so no, shouldn't cause problems...

there could be a slight 'lag time' but nothing to worry about really i would think...

There's an element of truth in it although the data should right itself soon after purchase. I wouldn't rule out being stopped though.

with this new anpr system anyone with a black mark on there record will have a flag everytime they go past traffic cars and its upto the copper on duty if he wants to pull you
so if your known to the police then yes it will be that case
however the fact is that once this person registers ANY car then the same is going to happen so it doesnt matter which car he owns
UNLESS HES A BADGER AND DOESNT REGISTER IT LOL
