Is now trashed pending Dave and Jake rectifying the issue themselves.
Please do not ask whether Dave pays our bills, he doesn't.
I've made the decision because the thread turned to shit and was generally no longer about people buying car parts.
I'm very happy indeed to entertain any degree of complaint whatsoever. If you remember rightly, this was my intention in 1997 when I started the site. Very happy.
What I don't want is bickering, legal problems, bandwagons and malice, hence the moderation decision. I'll happily explain my actions in more detail if anyone requires it. My request would be that while I have made efforts to do so, nobody forgets this and asks next time. The policy has always been to support buyers and the public at large, but if that isn't what the thread is about, it won't stay.

Doesn't this just confirm what members were saying that the thread would be trashed because of the individual in question. Editing the thread to remove the flase claims and bickering would have made more sense. Not that I care, just thought I'd point out the irony.

I had considered cutting it up but it's lots of work and wouldn't have really solved the problem, particularly as some of the reply by Dave had caused more problems than it solved, specifically in relation to the comedy mileage in the family situation.
I would ask anyone who is vindicated by the decision to consider that I'm not massive on options. I also won't leave it there just because people said I wouldn't. Ironic or otherwise, jokes about who was making the calls could continue for weeks, not ideal.
To re-iterate - I'm very happy to read threads which complain about traders. But I also must dampen the situation at some point, it can't go on unrestrained.
I'm quite sure anyone who has been here more than five minutes is able to make a decision on whether to trade with Dave or not. I'm not trying to shape that decision nor protect Dave. To be clear - the thread was no longer about Daves worthyness as a trader. As they never are. They go off topic and get jovial or personal, we delete them and somehow we are in cahoots with Dave!
No - discuss it seriously and it'll stay there forever. Move away from that, here we are.
