Got a savage backbox on my corsa and i love the sound it makes considering it aint a full system, only problem is its 4" and round so it is looking prertty big...

is it possible to have the end cut off and a new tip welded?

For the hassle that would cause, if even possible, why not just get a new backbox? BFO blue flame cat back system gives out a LOVELY noise.

that would change the sound

savage are horrible back boxes go get a full custom system you can choose the noise lever for yourself
