no, you need the log book, or the slip from the logbook,

you will also need the mot and insurance docs

i taxed my car yesterday at the local post office and didnt need no log book, never have done, just a valid insurance certificate and mot certificate plus the reminder letter they send out, thats all you need, plus some money of course.
