you scan things for yourself and then pay for them, whether you pay for everything is up to your conscience

Ones at my local Asda keep crashing and an assistant has to come sort it out. Might as well go to a till half the time!

Use them if i have one or 2 things, never if i have cds or games (as you cant open the box) or condoms and alchohol or anything. Our tesco has had them a good 5 years now, nothing new. And they dont loose out as said they have people watching. Further more why not pocket it while your moving rather than stood right at the till in view of the other cashiers and probably security

all the fresh cakes cookies etc havent got an exact wieght so you can get 10 cookies for the price of 1 and it doesnt matter if someones watching because youve already bagged them when you picked them up so they cant see how many youve got and how many your paying for

They watch you doing it, plus you have to put the items on a weigh bed after you have scanned them, so if you try to bag stuff that's not been scanned then the weight in your bag will be too great and you will be caught out.

I always go to the till as well, just for a bit of human interaction.

Scanning and bagging your own shooping through a machine doesn't really appeal to me tbh.

Pay at the pump for fuel is the best idea in a while, the 2 shells I normally use have it turned off the majority of the time though
