We have a football tournament coming up at work so we decided a kick about would be a good idea. I stepped up to book a pitch as no one else would do it. It took me 2 days to get everyone to agree on a day that they could play. I've been off work for a week on hol so had no way of checking everyone was still playing, I assumed everyone was. 2 pulled out over the weekend.
I've spent all day e mailing people trying to find out who is playing, only 2 replied and then half an hour ago find out we only have 8 players as 4 others have now made other plans
Just had to cancel the pitch. Last time I organsie anything

Its amazing how much cra4p you can get from people when your trying to arrange something for them isn't it........... Even when your from the same workplace, friends, or even a car website. Makes it not worth it, so you don't bother again.

We used to have a 5aside kick about every thursday, but the lad who organised it got so much shit from people dropping out/not paying he just jacked it in. Real shame as it was alot of fun for people that actually showed up

This is why I don't organise football which cost's money unless its a league game as people usually want to play and don't need to be chased up. I usually get the lads together on the park pitch thats close to us so if people pull out its no great loss.

Used to play 5-a-side every Wednesday night, but as above, guy organising it got so fed up with folk cancelling last minute or "forgot their wallet" he packed it in

i know just exactly what you mean! i work with the Air Training Corps and its awful!
if the kids arent working they are visiting their Dad/Mum/ill Gran and even then if they can make it they dont always turn up!
i have done the SC regions PVS convoy for 07/08 and know how much organisation that takes getting suitable pick up points decided upon!

I would love to play regular 5-a-side but as said, when I try to organise it, I may aswell talk to myself.
Classic example just gone. Go-Karting was mentioned 3 months ago for Sunday just gone. Had a nice big list. It got booked. Slowly but surely people dropped out, ended up with 3 of us.
