I was bored about 3 months ago and i came across a 1.2i merit r reg, so i bought it just for a bit of a laugh, first thing i did was respay the car n put a gsi kit on it n some 16" astra alloys on it... i took the eninge out about a month ago (which is for sale if anyone wants it '40,000 on clock') started reingforcing the engine bay a lil, working on other important bit, got better breaks, new exuast system, suspension etc and finally, yesterday i finished putting a 2. 0 16v red top turbo engine from a cavalier. not a rapid as my type-r but still, for a lil car im impressed!

Is your type R tuned? as a LET corsa would eat a type R for joke.

There is something wrong with your turbo engine if its not as quick as your CTR then, or the civic is very heavily modified. I pushed a CTR round Elvington a few years ago in my 160 bhp XE corsa, with at least 200bhp and probably twice as much torque your corsa should be a lot quicker than the civic dude.

Edit, just seen your civic spec, still think it should be faster tho as my mountain bike has more torque than a NA honda 4 pot.

all i know is, this car came to me with 600 miles on the clock 5 1/2 yrs ago and its restricted to 154 as once it hit 154 it still has more revs to go, you can tell from just listening to the car, i reckon it would push 160 given enough distance

Pretty sure its around the 160 mark not sure though, and its not just about top end either the acceleration of a corsa turbo due to such high torque will be a bit quicker than a type r

my type-r is turboed etc... i admit this corsa is quick, but when i boot it, the car wants to veer off everywhere, once i get to about 100, then i can boot it, even then its a bit uncontrollable

Why do people compare these cars???

A LET in a corsa isnt exactly standard is it lol

Compare one to a supercharged civic then that would be a fairer comparison
