Has anyone been to college and trained to be an Electricain or is still doing there course??? I'm doing the full 4 year C&G and electrotechnical.
I start in September and wondered if there were any books etc that you found REALLY usefull?

Im an Apprentice Instrument Tech which has some electrical aspects in it, Ive also done a HNC in Electrical Engineering. I just used the course noted provided.
My total 3yr's spent at college arms me with:
NC Multi dicipline Engineering.
NC Engineering Practice.
HNC Electrical Engineering.
HNC Measurement & Control Engineering.
SVQ II Engineering Op's.
SVQ III Engineering Op's.
POL: Oilwell Drilling Technology
Drilling Calculations
Oilwell Production Technology - (Well Completions)
Acredited Certificate in Oil and Gas Well Technology.
My heids just about bursting but ive got another 6 months to go before I escape the brick walls of college......its what I imagine prison to be like but I get to go home & sleep in my own bed at night!

Any book to do with ATEX hazardous area rated equipment is good, I have one as I can never remember what equip. for what area.
Then again, might not be useful unless you have anything to do with the offshore industry...

Ooooh cheers guys good ones there 
I did my HNC a few years ago now and that was fuking hard degree level maths for 9 hours a day was hell on earth

Degree maths rots my brain, can understand it to a point then i shut down

Im starting my second year on monday.
Did the same thing you are doing but i was at college doing C&C 2330 Electrotechnical was there two days a week for about 5 months and the rest of the time i was at a training centre.
Any questions just u2u me. Passed all my online exams first time 1 pass, 2 Credits and 2 Distinctions
