I like them, not sure if like enough to buy one though. £10k (for a 03/low miles) has alot of competition - Elise, S2k, 350Z etc

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I wouldnt purchase any of the above mentioned at the moment, any prestige/sports/toy/weekend car in this current financial climate will just loose money. Youll buy it for £8k and in 3 months it could be worth half that.

I speak from personal experience, id wait!

Seconded, seriously considering just garaging my S3 rather than selling while I move out and get myself sorted, prices have plummeted and show no signs of stopping

If i saw that TT driving down the road i would point and laugh!
My mate has a 3.2 V6 TT with the DSG box, very nice car
Just a girly A3/S3 though really, just sold my 2nd S3 and i struggled to get what i wanted for it (£9.5k)
Prices on sports presteige cars are dropping rapidly due to high fuel, and tax hikes etc...
like Ian said, hang on a bit and grab a bargain off someone desperate to sell.. have you considered an S3? Good cars but i'd look towards an S2000 if it was me.

With some cars maybe but not generally speaking.

S2000s for example have come down to their lowest at about 7k - 8k if you want a decent early one. They're never, never going to half their value in a couple of months.

In fact I reckon if you bought one now, you'd get back pretty much what you paid for it next year (we're talking early models here at the 7/8k bracket).

apk, my suggestion was hypothetical and worse case scenario. Id happily bet my own mother an s2000 wont hold its value. A. Its a car. B. Its a mass produced japanese toy car. C. Its not a "practical car" therefore demand is low at the moment, and theres tons of them. You may be lucky and grab a bargain of someone desperate to sell etc. But i wouldnt buy anything other than a supermini at the minute.

£8k might not get you the best of TT's

Saying that I spent more and got a twat of a car, I would seriously advise buying from a dealer so you get some kind of warranty!

Mine is quite a low milage example and hasn't been right since the day I got it!

Lovely cars, but my 13days of non stop trouble are putting me off it ever so slightly

LISTEN TO JR!!!

Hmm sounds like its just a bad one youve bought, the engines massivly used throughout VAG ranges & ive not heard many bad reports, none more than other types of motors.

S2Ks can be had for 6K+ now.

Looked at boxster, S2K, Elise, VX220, TT ended up with S2K
