co-codomol (sp) take 2 of these but be prepared to be knocked out asleep for the next few hours, only other thing is swill some salt water around it to kill any infection then bathe it in whiskey to numb it.
hope it helps, i feel your pain toothache is the work of the devil,

Not gonna cure it by any means;
But 2x paracetamol based pain killer e.g. Paracedamol/Co-codamol etc, then 2x ibuprofen 2 hours later, then paracetamol 2 hours later than that etc. And alternate them every two hours while you're awake.
If you cant wait, there will be an on call dentist at your nearest district general hosp.

Ibuprofen better for the 'nerve' pain, and paracetamol an extremely effective pain killer in it's own right.
They work well when taken together. And alternating so you can take something relatively often without overdosing on one or the other; yet maintain an effective background of analgesia.

John, oil of Cloves plus some serious dose codeine will help. Salt water gargles with boiled water to keep infection at bay too.
Morphine would help with the pain also. Sorry.
I know your pain. It's bloody misery isn't it mate.

Dont drink the whiskey, just get it on some cotton wool and place/rub it on the tooth in question.
