British super-heavyweight boxer David Price, from Liverpool, is guaranteed to add at least a bronze to the total having made it through to a semi-final bout on Friday.

And the same goes for Sunderland's light-heavyweight Tony Jeffries who saw off Hungary's Imre Szello to set up a meeting with Ireland's Kenny Egan.

Looking ahead, Team GB, who will hold a victory parade in London upon their return from Beijing, can expect to challenge for gold in three more sailing events, women's BMX cycling, the men's triple jump and men's flatwater canoeing.

He wont, will stop trying once he's got it won again

I backed him to break the 100m WR, and thought i'd lost when he was dancing about, he could easily break it, but would most likely be more money in breaking it at a lesser event when the prize money for breaking it is higher

Thing is, he probably has a contract like Bubka (think it was him) and the female Pole Vaulter had, where they get £50k for breaking the record, she broke it like 20 times in the year, just doing 1cm at a time.

Would make sense if he was doing that, BUT i agree he will probably win it and just stroll home, reckon he could probably get the 200m record if he needed tho

Side note... just seen the odds on the final Bolt is 1/50! 2nd favourite is 28/1 !

You have to admit, you're as suprised as me he went for the WR, especially after all his performances so far. He didnt smash it, so the last bit of my post is correct
